Sytsma Family: Vegas, baby!

We've been back to reality for a few days now, but I thought I'd post a bit about our trip to Vegas. We left last Tuesday night, and it was hard for me to say good-bye to the kids. However, I did not need to worry a bit since they were in the VERY capable hands of Grandpa and Grandma Sytsma. I think they took on every fun kid activity in the Milwaukee area! Mom and Dad are a bore after all that fun!!

Mark and I arrived very late on Tuesday night in Vegas and by the time we hit our pillow it was probably about 2:30am our time. Somehow I thought I'd catch up on sleep while we were there, but my internal clock kept waking me up early. Mark and I usually caught a little breakfast at the Paris where we were staying. Mark spent most of his days at the conference, and I explored Caesar's Palace, the Venetian, the Bellagio and did some shopping. It was lots of fun exploring with some of the other wives of Mark's classmates. I spent most afternoons by the pool...the weather wasn't super warm, but 65/70 felt great to my Milwaukee-self! Wednesday evening we celebrated our friends Jeremy and Jessie's daughter Sydney's first birthday at Rainforest Cafe then we headed out to see Cirque de Soleil's Mystere. It was amazing. Thursday night we dressed up for a night on the town. We enjoyed a five course dinner at Picasso in the Bellagio thanks to Dr. Haskell. The food was amazing! I posted some pictures of the dessert (yes, I was classy enough to take pictures in the restaurant! ha!). It was fun to be called Mademoiselle and have my napkin placed on my lap...it was a slight step up from our usual dinners out :). After dinner we went dancing at the Bank...yup, we got the ortho boys on the dance floor! It was a blast! Friday night we went to a MCW cocktail party at the Bellagio and then headed to Ghostbar in the Palms. The view was amazing.

Saturday we headed home. It was a fantastic trip, but I couldn't wait to give my babies a squeeze!
