It's hard to believe we've been in Birmingham for over a week already. We've explored a lot and already have a pizza place :). We got Annika into a preschool that is a 5 minute walk from our house. She can't wait! Yesterday we went to a little neighbor girl's birthday party and met a couple more neighbors. There are a lot of little girls Annika's age right next to us, so that should come in handy. We've checked out a couple churches. One's definitely higher on the list than the other...we'll continue our search. I realized there's a bit of a dress code in the south depending on where you are...I believe "full make up" may have been a better option than my baseball cap. Darn, I have to get "dolled up" to go grocery shopping....Milwaukee how I miss you! Thankfully this is not true for all parts of the area :). It's starting to get a bit steamier. Today was about 90 and humid, but we can't complain. It's been unseasonably "cool" for this time of year around here! We are outside a lot, and we use our screened in porch for about every meal. It's my favorite part of the house!
We've enjoyed having Mark around and get him for another few days before he starts and he's MIA for several months during football season. I hear it's a pretty bad schedule. I keep telling myself I'll survive, but I forgot how overwhelming starting over is!
I'll try to update our blog often and I hope to hear from you our dear friends and family frequently. We miss you!
