Baseball, Apple Pie, and... Bounce Houses

We've been enjoying the flavors of Americana recently. Our last few days in Birmingham have been filled with fun and Fourth of July festivities. Saturday night we took the whole family to see the local minor league team the Birmingham Barons. The kids enjoyed the music, bounce houses, and cotton candy the most. The evening was capped off with some fireworks which were shot of right outside the stadium and were LOUD. The kids covered their ears the whole time. Last night we headed to downtown Homewood for their Fourth of July Festival... more bounce houses, bands, lemonade, and, of course, Fireworks (seriously, we think Homewood is a kids' paradise!). We sat next to some of our neighbors and their families. Cole was really into the fireworks this time since they weren't quite so close or loud.
