Friends and Fifth Year

Our summer has been filled with a good mix of busyness and fun! Residency has kept Mark plenty busy in recent weeks (what's new?) and on top of that, he has had to plan graduation festivities for the class above him. This past weekend his class (and wives) kept busy with a formal graduation dinner on Friday, Golf Outing Saturday morning, and another informal dinner and senior roast and skits in the evening. Mark and his classmates were each assigned a graduating resident to roast and put together a power point "tribute" to. They also spent hours upon hours filming "skits" poking fun of the senior class and other attending doctors. They all did a great job and got a lot of laughs on Saturday. Mark missed his calling in acting! Who knew?!! The wives were basically in charge of Saturdays evening festivities--decorating, food, drink, etc. Needless to say we were exhausted come Sunday!! Thankfully Mom and Dad Bouman came to watch Annika and Cole...we don't know what we would have done without them!

Today Mark started his first day of his last year of residency!!! HOORAY! It's hard to believe four years have gone by, they've flown by and crawled by at the same time! It's bittersweet to think about...Mark has formed great relationships with his fellow residents, and we will be sad to bid them and Milwaukee farewell in a year.

The top pictures are from a party we had in our back yard...we ended up in the garage as you will see...so much for ambiance! The following pictures are from the Ortho dinner. Fun times!
