Bedtime Blessings

Most of the time I'm exhausted by the time our bedtime routine comes around, but once and a while I remember to soak up the preciousness of that time!

I love the sweet sound of Cole singing Jesus Loves Me. He absolutely loves to sing this song and breaks into singing it before we even finish his bedtime prayers. (A side note: I think he knows how precious I think his singing is that he starts singing it if anyone is crying--very sweet--or if he's knows he's in trouble--hmmm.) We've been trying to teach him "Now I Lay Me" as his bedtime prayer. Usually daddy and "gapa and gama" get special emphasis during the blessing time. Cole's "kissies" are just the cutest!

After reading books and prayers, Annika and I have a tradition of 4 special kisses: eskimo kisses, butterfly, kisses, "regular" kisses, and tickle monster kisses. Love it! And, "How much does mommy love you, Annika?" "All the way to the moon and back." (We stole that one from a book.) Annika always tells me that she loves me "all the way across the sky" or " all the way across space."

So, if anyone reading this is an exhausted parent like me, remember to enjoy those precious moments. Don't forget to look at them while they sleep...no matter what they've done that day, they always look angelic.

(Thanks to everyone who dropped by to say "hi" on our blog. Keep the comments coming :))

OK, Mommy Katie....you've brought tears to my eyes. We do, as parents, take a lot of moments for granted, and we do need to step back and look at what we been blessed with. The moments go by too quickly. Thanks for reminding me of just how blessed I am for two beautiful girls!

Hey Kate - I check your blog about once a week, and I've been enjoying your Alabama updates! I hope the transition is going smoothly. BTW, we're having this baby Oct. 12, just over 5 weeks. I'm SO ready! :)
