We are starting to do our last things in Birmingham before we move. While this year has had its challenges, we've come to really love some of the things Birmingham has to offer. The Botanical Gardens was one of our favorite places to stroll on Sunday afternoons. Yesterday was just plain hot, so there weren't that many people crazy enough to be outside, but we decided to venture out anyway. After the gardens, we promised the kids we could go to Mt. Brook Creamery for ice cream, or we could go for a quick swim at the pool. They chose the pool...so we raced home threw on our swimsuits drove to the pool and found out it was closed! I think it was because there was some random thunder (typical southern storm blowing overhead but nothing becomes of it.). We decided since we all had our suits on and were disgustingly sweaty we would have a family water fight in the backyard. Out came the hose, squirt guns, and water blasters! We were all happy, soaked and much cooler when we were done. Oh, and we ended up walking to Edgewood Creamery for ice cream instead...which made us sweaty all over again!
