Give Thanks!

For the first time in several years, I did not make the turkey!  It was so much fun to be home with family, but  a little part of me missed the excitement of having family visit us.  Last year their visit brought us to Birmingham and many years before that Thanksgiving was enjoyed crammed into our Breezeway in Brookfield, WI.  No matter where Thanksgiving is celebrated, I am reminded of how VERY much I have to be grateful for.  I have a husband who loves me, precious children to hold, a healthy body, a beautiful, warm home, a steady income, cherished friends, and parents and siblings who love me and share a grace-filled faith!  God has always been faithful and continues to carry me when I am weak--particularly in the last few months.  I am thankful that HE is there even when I don't feel very grateful.  I'm thankful for relatively little things too--skype to talk with sibling across the world, a car with automatic doors, an attached garage, varieties of food in the fridge...the list goes on.   I certainly recognize how very blessed I am, but I don't always think about those who aren't as fortunate.  I'm hoping that I can be better at this and make some kind of impact no matter how small.
