Ice, Ice, Baby

Starting sometime in the middle of the night last Sunday night through Wednesday morning we were without power thanks to a huge ice storm that hit Kalamazoo.  Trees, branches, and power lines were down all over the place and 45,000 people were without power in the Kalamazoo area.  Some people didn't get power until Friday!  We stuck it out most of the day on Monday...warming ourselves by our gas fireplace, but Bennett was sick with the stomach flu and we were getting colder by the minute.  Before our toes turned blue and we ate another peanut butter sandwich meal, we got a call from the wife of one of Mark's partners inviting us to stay at their house.  Hooray!  We had heat, electricity, warm meals, and good company!  The kids loved playing with all the cool toys the 11 year Maddie and 8 year Sam had! 

 Everything was coated.

 It was really spectacular!
